ABOUT the RUSMA
The
Retired United States Marshals Association was founded on October 29, 1994.
It is comprised of three categories of members.
- Regular members are
those employees of the Service who have retired or have served a minimum
of 5 years honorable service.
- Associate membership
is available to those employees who are still active members of the
Service.
- Honorary membership
is bestowed upon people who have been nominated by a member and have
been approved by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee consists
of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and the Regional
Vice Presidents.
The Association Constitution
describes the intent of membership and satisfies the U.S. Internal Revenue
regulations required for 501 3C status as a charitable organization.
We members of this association
are dedicated to preserving the Constitution of the United States, providing
assistance to the United States Marshals Service whenever and wherever
it is needed or requested, maintaining communication with the membership
at large and fostering a commitment to assisting worthwhile charities
throughout the country.
The Association meets
once a year at a location condusive to the needs of the membership to
conduct association business and to provide recreation for all.
